John Engler for cutting the Local Services Division of the state Department of Transportation. Det. Sgt. Jim Bjorne said minor injuries have resulted from egg throwing this year. In 1991, 6,419 deer were hit by vehicles in the U.P., up about 29 percent from the previous year. Statewide, there were 48,233 such crashes.
