Mackinac Bridge Authority meetings July 7 in St. Ignace, July 8 on Mackinac Island

ST. IGNACE — The Mackinac Bridge Authority will meet in special session July 7 in St. Ignace and have its regular meeting July 8 on Mackinac Island. The special meeting, scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, is to consider dedicating the building at Bridge View Park in honor of Bill Gnodtke, former authority member and chairman. MARQUETTE — The Negaunee Public Library will hold a book-signing session for several regional authors from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, as part of Pioneer Days. Authors include Negaunee native Adam Dompierre (mystery), Larry Buege (nonfiction and children’s books), Kyann and Shire Clarke (children’s nonfiction), Richard P. M-123 resurfacing in Newberry starts Monday, July 6

NEWBERRY — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $1.3 million to resurface M-123 in Newberry. The project will include cold milling, resurfacing, guardrail improvements and pavement markings, extending the lifespan of the roadway and increasing safety for motorists. Work will start Monday, July 6 and is expected to be completed by 
Friday, Sept. 25.
