Marquette city manager to hold office hours

MARQUETTE — Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, July 8 from 10 a.m.-noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of the Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with city staff about interests and concerns.

Negaunee City Band to play Pioneer Week concert

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee City Band concert will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, for this week only in order to avoid conflict with other scheduled events. Concerts are held at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street. A special feature of the concert is a trumpet solo, “Gabriel’s Oboe,” by Randy Veale, retired high school band director. MARQUETTE — Average gasoline prices in Michigan have risen 9.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.06/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 4,913 stations in Michigan. Prices in Michigan are 34.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 82.0 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 11.4 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $4.876 per gallon. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Michigan was priced at $3.37/g yesterday while the most expensive was $5.64/g, a difference of $2.27/g. ...
