ISHPEMING — Join the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club as it celebrates 50 years of rockin’ and swappin’ at the 50th Annual Upper Peninsula Gem and Mineral Show.

From humble beginnings as a small rock swap at Tourist Park in Marquette to the largest one-day rock show in the midwest, this free event has grown and flourished. All are invited to the Ishpeming Elks Lodge on Saturday, Aug. 1 for this free, family-friendly event.

Up to 50 vendors from the Great Lakes region will have gem and mineral specimens, jewelry and other gifts for sale. A children’s area features a scavenger hunt, treasure dig and other activities. Door prizes and a silent auction fill out the event. Come on down from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to help organizers celebrate their 50th show anniversary!
