Wagner wins Republican primary for State Legislature’s 109th District in Marquette County
MARQUETTE — Melody Wagner won the Republican primary election in Marquette County with 1,839 votes. Contender Matthew Goss received 1,765 votes
Wagner will face off against incumbent Democrat Sara Cambensy in the Nov. 3 election. Cambensy ran unopposed in Tuesday’s primary.
Wagner was declared the overall winner in the 4-county primary race according to preliminary results posted by the Associated Press
The winner of the Nov. 3 election will serve a two-year term in the seat which represents residents of Marquette, Alger, Luce and Schoolcraft counties.
Election results remain unofficial until the Marquette County Board of Canvassers verifies them at a 1 p.m. meeting today.
