Rotary Club of Marquette officers named
MARQUETTE — As its 2025-26 year comes to a close on June 30, the Rotary Club of Marquette President Chuck Blaksmith passed the gavel to incoming President Steve Powers. During Blaksmith’s year leading the club, there were many achievements including completing the Giant Foot Park project, solidifying the Feeding America project, conpleting the first the Pumpkins Against Polio gala, initiating the Bog Walk renovation project and completing the club’s incorporation status as well as maintaining the club’s many ongoing projects and its Golf Outing.
Powers was the Marquette County administrator in the early 2000s and then served several governmental bodies across the country in planning and administrative roles. He returned to Marquette and Rotary in retirement a few years ago. He has improved the club’s membership standing and been active in all aspects of the club. He was recently recognized as a Paul Harris Fello plus one.
