New Alger County businesses welcomed

Jaymie Depew

The newest members of the Alger County Chamber of Commerce are Alley Cats, Au Train Grocery and Motel, Case Country Farm, Gallery Coffee Company and WQXO FM-AM.

≤ Alley Cats is a fast casual restaurant serving up quality fried chicken and fish in downtown Munising. Catch a bite to eat before or after exploring our beautiful area. The restaurant offers late-night dining as well as lunch options and is located at 209 E. Superior St.

≤ Au Train Grocery is a local convenience and grocery store that’s open year-round with a self-serve gas station and 5-unit motel. Offering fresh pasties daily, gas, beer, wine and liquor, groceries, pre-made deli food, Upper Peninsula-inspired gifts, propane refills, an ATM, T-shirts and more.

≤ Au Train Grocery and Motel is located at N7590 Arbutus Street, Au Train, just off the snowmobile and ATV trails two blocks from Au Train Beach on beautiful Lake Superior and many other area attractions.

≤ Case Country Farm is a local family farm that focuses on sustainably raising Berkshire pigs and Angus beef on pasture. The animals are put first at the farm and you can taste the difference in every product. Find them at the Munising Farmers Market every Monday and the Marquette Farmers Market every Saturday during market seasons. Otherwise, they have a cooler at Hillside Party Store East in Munising. Visit their Facebook page or website at www.casecountryfarm.com for more information.

≤ Gallery Coffee Company is a unique roastery and art exhibit that’s located in the heart of historic Munising. Nestled in a newly renovated 8,000 square foot building from the 1800s, it features high tin ceilings, reclaimed hardwood floors and original brickwork. Located at 120 Elm Ave., Gallery Coffee now offers live music, comedy night, and other entertainment weekly.

≤ WQXO FM-AM is Alger County’s home to Munising Sports and “Good Time Oldies”. Listen daily for features from the golden era – pop, rock, and soul music from the ’60s and ’70s. For more information, visit their Facebook page or website at wqxo.com/
