MARQUETTE — A memorial was held Thursday night for Trenton Massey, a 21-year-old Northern Michigan University student who has been missing since February.
The memorial involved the lowering of the NMU Wildcat flag to half-mast on NMU’s campus, with a service taking place during the afternoon at the Jacobetti Complex and a flower-throwing tribute during the evening at Lower Harbor.
“I just want to say thank you for the last two months, the last four years, the last 21-and-a-half years,” said Sarah Brock, Massey’s mother, at the flower-throwing tribute. “Everybody touched Trenton’s life.”
A fund has been set up in Massey’s name through NMU, called the Trenton Massey Memorial Fund. Donations can be made at https://foundation.nmu.edu/ by selecting “other” in the donation designation menu and writing “Trenton Massey Memorial Fund,” or by calling the NMU Foundation at 906-227-2627.
