This is a photo I believe from 1985 where moose from Ontario were transported and released in a remote part of Marquette County to reintroduce the moose population in the Upper Peninsula. Although it may be difficult to see, there was a good crowd of people in the background. What a privilege it was to be invited as a photographer. (Photo courtesy of Mary Jayne Hallifax)
The beginning of March usually brings in annual ice fishing tournaments and snowmobiles traveling throughout the area. There were a generous amount of fishing boats in Munising Bay last weekend with a large celebration at the Legion. The South Shore Fishing Association and Rescue 21 Alger County hosted a ‘no ice’ fishing tournament and it had a great turnout. (Photo courtesy of Mary Jayne Hallifax)
This is a great photo of a sailboat enjoying some sun at Sand Point last weekend. (Photo courtesy of Mary Jayne Hallifax)
