Peak’s Harvala sets state weightlifting record

MARQUETTE - Peak weightlifter Morgan Harvala lifted not only a personal record of 71 kilograms (156.5 pounds) in her clean-and-jerk lift on April 16 at the Reach Your PEAK meet, but also set a state record and qualified for the youth nationals in Texas during June.Harvala's lifts also included 54 kilos (119.1 lbs.) in snatch for a total of 125 kilos (275.6 lbs.).Another Peak weightlifter, Jess LeClair, placed third at the meet, lifting a personal record in her total that included another personal record of 4 kilos (8.8 lbs.)?in the clean and jerk.Peak gymnasts Solen Choidi, Milo Staley ...

MARQUETTE - The Marquette BMX track opened its season with an open house and first race of the season during frigid conditions with temperatures in the 30s and snow flurries gretting racers on Saturday.BMX membership is open throughout the season.
