MARQUETTE — Jennifer Ray and Jennifer Klipp won seats on the Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education on Tuesday. They received 7,725 and 6,743 votes, respectively. Bean elected Ishpeming mayor; Chapman, Firby, Skauge take council seats

ISHPEMING — Lindsay Bean won the race for Ishpeming Mayor in Tuesday’s general election. Bean received 1,338 votes, defeating opponent Pat Scanlon, who garnered 1,315 votes. The mayor is elected at each General City Election. Those council members whose terms do not expire immediately following the General Election are automatically candidates for the office of Mayor. In the Ishpeming Council race, seven candidates were vying for three open seats. Jason Chapman won the most votes with 1,544, followed by Elizabeth Firby with 1,518 votes, and Stuart A. Stagliano, Ilmonen elected to Negaunee City Council

MARQUETTE — Tony Stagliano and Craig M. Ilmonen were the lead vote-getters in the race for Negaunee City Council. Stagliano received 1,321 votes, Illmonen garnered 1,190 votes followed by Toby Smith with 882 votes. Negaunee City Councilors serve a three-year term. All election results are unofficial until certified by the Marquette County Board of Canvassers.

Stonehouse, Hanley and Mayer win Marquette City Commission seats

MARQUETTE — Fred Stonehouse, Jessica Hanley, and Cody Mayer won the race for the three open Marquette City Commission seats in Tuesday’s general election, according to unofficial election results. Stonehouse received 3,953 votes, Hanley received 3,868 votes and Mayer received 3,432 votes, defeating opponents Margaret Meta Brumm, Paul Schloegel and Mike Plourde, who garnered 3,236 votes, 3,335 votes and 2,650 votes, respectively, during Tuesday’s election. Election results are unofficial until the Marquette County Board of Canvassers meets this afternoon.
