Marquette Redettes post girls soccer shutout at Houghton
HOUGHTON — The Marquette Senior High School girls soccer team had to battle cold and rain Thursday afternoon, but the Redettes fought their way through it and took out Houghton 2-0.
Marquette senior Deni Peterson stepped up big, scoring both of the Redettes’ goals in the first half off some great feeds from fellow senior Sierra Carlson, according to a report from coach Jeff Collins.
In the second half, Marquette continued to lock down on the Gremlins offense and preserved the shutout.
The Redettes close out their season this weekend in the Lower Peninsula at the Leland Invitational.
