A man known for his unwavering work ethic, his profound love for the natural world, and his dedication to his beloved family, Richard was Born on March 15, 1941, in Marquette, Michigan. Richard’s journey through life was one marked by the simple joys of the great outdoors and the close-knit bonds of family.

Raised in Skandia, Richard attended Marquette Senior High School. After completing his education, he ventured into the logging industry, where he honed his skills as a woodcutter. His love for the environment was evident in his work, and he carried the spirit of the woods with him throughout his life. His tenure at the mine was characterized by the same hard work and resilience that he applied to every aspect of his life.

On Valentine’s Day in 1995, Richard married the love of his life, and together they built a warm and welcoming home in Skandia, a place he fondly referred to as “God’s Country.” His commitment to his home and family was paramount, and he took great pride in the life they shared together. Richard’s love of hunting and fishing was more than just a hobby; it was a testament to his identity as a true woodsman who held a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Those who knew Richard will remember him for his passion for country music. His presence was a comforting reminder of the steadfastness of nature itself.
