To the Journal editor: On Saturday, May 13, the NALC Branch #95 and the Marquette Post Office participated in the “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive. Our annual food drive brought in 10,000 pounds of non-perishable goods this year.We would like to thank the Marquette community for their generosity. To the Journal editor: My grandfather was a member of the famous 32nd Red Arrow Division of World War I made up of Upper Michigan and Wisconsin National Guardsman. He was wounded in Belgium. My father was in the Army-Air Corps in World War II stationed in China-Burma and India all during the war. My brother is a Vietnam era veteran. To the Journal editor: I’m 75 years old with a heart condition and I have COPD bad. I am on oxygen. Last June, the state took out my culvert so I made a bridge to go across, scary as hell but since the thaw, I can’t get out so we threw a ramp across to M-28 so I could get out. They said my driveway, 31 years old, was the cause of the road to give way. Everybody knows it wasn’t. I wish I had someone’s cell number to send a picture.

As president, it took him only four years to create 25% of the total debt incurred by the United States during 250 years. Trump’s debt arose from the largest tax cut in history for the wealthiest 1%. It’s light for an hour longer in the evening. Just think of light for only a few hours that would be better than total darkness. Life would not continue.
