Marquette County residents thanked

To the Journal editor:

The Marquette County Salvation Army Advisory Board would like to thank you, the people of Marquette County, for your unwavering support that allowed so many families in this county to experience Christmas for and with their families.

Because of your generosity, 272 families representing 657 children received 8,122 gifts including, bicycles, gift cards, clothing, puzzles, books, art supplies, dolls, trucks, balls, stuffed animals, small stocking stuffers, and a box of food through the Salvation Army Christmas toy shop.

Beyond that, we had gifts for shut-ins and nursing home residents. Some of you gave money through the red kettles or the mail.

Some of you gave time as you volunteered to man the kettles, standing in the cold, and ringing the bells so others could donate. Some of you donated toys, clothing, food, and all the other items we could give out.

We are grateful to all of you and know that every gift you gave, large or small, in whatever form, was gratefully received, both by The Salvation Army and the families who benefited.

Thank you.
