To the Journal editor:

We would like to show how much we appreciate the Gwinn Fire Department for their quick response to our house the night of the bad snow storm. A tree branch fell on our roof and shook the house.

I was getting ready to let our dog out when I heard another crash. When I opened the door, another part of the tree landed on our deck and we couldn’t get out of the house.

If I would have went out earlier, the tree would have hit me and our dog causing serious injury to both of us. This was a busy night with everything happening – power lines down, strong winds causing these problems.

This was a busy night for them. We appreciate their great and outstanding positive attitudes.
