Post office food drive a success

To the Journal editor:

May 9 was our annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive. The NALC Br. #95 picked up 4,500 lbs. of non-perishable goods. Even in these current tougher times with increased costs, the people of Marquette still came through to fill our local pantries.

Branch #95 thanks you for your generosity! Your donations went to the following: Janzen House, Room at the Inn Warming Center, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and the Women’s Center/Harbor House. We would also like to thank the Marquette United Way for their continued support of this food drive.

And a special thanks to the Marquette Elks Lodge #405 for hosting our carriers for pizza after the drive. Thank you again, people of Marquette!

Starting at $3.23/week.
