GOP plans cited?

To the Journal editor:

It will be interesting to see those who identify as Republican vote for that party amid calls by the so-called “leaders” of the (GOP) to abolish Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

By abolish, I mean to privatize it, reduce current benefits and to scale back numerous protections that exist to serve the poor, the retired and the disabled. The writing is already on the wall.

The Republicans plan to withhold votes on future continuing resolutions to keep government functioning unless they can gut Social Security as it presently exists.

They look at these funds as a private party for their donors, mostly Wall Street funds and bankers who would love nothing more than to get their mitts on this money.

While they claim to represent Americans (while appealing to their base bigotry and hate), this plan will create untold suffering for those who paid into the system all their lives, and those whose disabilities are severe enough to prevent them from gainful employment.

Rick Scott (FL), Ron Johnson(WI) and numerous GOP members are on board with this idea. So, while they rile you up to hate others, watch your pocket, because they plan to rob you blind.

This is what is called voting against your own self-interest.
