To the Journal editor:

Sawyer Community Alliance sponsored the third annual Fishing with Friends event, and once again it was a success. This year the event moved to the newly-opened Forsyth Community Center at Sawyer.

There was a craft and flea market, games and activities, food, and a drawing for prizes donated for the event.

The culmination of the event was a sock hop in the gym, where the music (donated by Starr Lyrics KJ/DJ Entertainment) got the dancers moving their feet.

The event was a great success due to the hard work of the volunteer team and the generous donations given from individuals and businesses throughout the community.

We’re looking forward to next year, and are planning to make this a great summer-ending occasion for everyone in the area to enjoy.
