Transparency needed here
To the Journal editor:
I have a simple question: Why is Dr. Bob Lorinser, D-Marquette, no longer employed by the Marquette County Board of Health?
Not only is this a taxpayer-funded position, but Dr. Lorinser, while employed by Marquette County, launched a campaign to run as the Democratic challenger to U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, for Michigan’s 1st Congressional District seat.
We deserve transparency and our elected officials, or those who wish to represent us, should be held to account when it’s literally our money paying for their salaries or, in Dr. Lorinser’s case, their severance package.
