Escanaba motorcyclist dies in collision in NE Wisconsin

OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. — A 39-year-old Escanaba man was killed Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a truck in Oconto County. The crash happened about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of County Trunk Highway S and Schwartz Road in Chase, a small town slightly northwest of Green Bay, according to reporting from the Escanaba Daily Press. “A preliminary investigation indicates that a truck was stopped at the stop sign on Schwartz Road, facing south. M-48 overpass repair project at I-75
 in Chippewa County resumes July 20

NEWBERRY — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $5 million on a project to repair two M-48 overpasses over I-75 in Chippewa County over three. Work on the M-48 overpass at I-75 connecting M-129 to Mackinac Trail started in 2024 and is scheduled to resume on July 20 and completion is estimated at Oct. 30. Work on the M-48 overpass at I-75 near Rudyard was completed in 2025. Remaining work includes temporary supports and other improvements. MARQUETTE — From 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at the Peter White Public Librar, Community Room, organizers have partnered with Iron Golem Games to bring Dungeon and Dragons to the PWPL. Jordan, from Iron Golem Games and local DM’s will lead groups of teens on an epic quest with this role-playing game. This event is for students entering grades 6-12.
