MARQUETTE -- United Way of Marquette County and Ore Dock Brewing Company are teaming up to launch a new fall tradition in Marquette. Steins for Good, a family-friendly Oktoberfest-inspired celebration benefiting United Way’s work throughout Marquette County, will take place from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in downtown Marquette.
Built around the theme "Raise a Stein. Raise the Community", Steins for Good Will combine the atmosphere of a fall community festival with an opportunity to support programs and solutions addressing needs throughout Marquette County.
"We wanted to create something that people would genuinely look forward to attending -- a great afternoon with friends and family that also accomplishes something meaningful for our community," said Andrew Rickauer, executive director of United Way of Marquette County. "Ore Dock is such a natural gathering place for Marquette and Steins for Good gives us an opportunity to bring people together, have a lot of fun and turn that energy into support for our neighbors throughout the county."
The afternoon will feature live music from the Knockabouts, locally brewed beer, family activities and Oktoberfest-inspired competitions throughout the event. Planned activities include a costume contest, frozen-shirt contest, pretzel-eating contest and Stein holding contest.
General admission tickets are $30, with VIP tickets available for $50. Tickets include a custom Steins for Good beer glass or stein, creating a keepsake from the inaugural event. VIP availability will be limited and will include an upgraded event experience.
