Anonymous donor establishes two endowment funds to preserve Calumet landmarks

HANCOCK – Two of Calumet’s historic landmarks now have permanent sources of support thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor who has established the Copper Country Firefighters Memorial Museum Building Preservation Fund and the Calumet Theatre Building Preservation Fund at the Keweenaw Community Foundation.  The new endowment funds were created to help preserve the buildings that house the Copper Country Firefighters History Museum and the historic Calumet Theatre, ensuring these community-owned landmarks remain part of Calumet’s landscape for generations to come. NEGAUNEE — Director Lucas Wickstrom has chosen to celebrate the music of Leroy Anderson during this Wednesday’s (July 15) concert to be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street. NMU business growth drives new campus investment

MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University has secured $13 million in state funding toward a $23 million project to relocate its College of Business to a new addition in the Hedgcock Building.
