NMU business growth drives new campus investment
MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University has secured $13 million in state funding toward a $23 million project to relocate its College of Business to a new addition in the Hedgcock Building.
The move will take the college from the eastern edge of campus into a more visible and connected location, consolidating faculty offices, classrooms, labs, study areas and community space.
With the College of Business growing 41% over the past two years, the project adds needed capacity for programs tied to business, cybersecurity and emerging workforce needs, giving students more direct access to faculty, industry-relevant learning spaces and the business education needed to support employers and entrepreneurs across the region.
It also gives the U.P. a stronger asset for preparing graduates who can work and lead here.
