Alger, Delta conservation districts to host Soil Life is Farm Life field days

CHATHAM — With support from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Soil Life is Farm Life field days is a two-day event on July 28-29 offering tours of local farms and demonstrations of regenerative agriculture in practice, as well as a keynote talk from Eric Fuchs of the Soil Health Academy. ESCANABA ­– Some roadside parks operated by the Michigan Department of Transportation in the Upper Peninsula will be closing temporarily for toilet building upgrades. Queen City Marathon, 5K set

MARQUETTE — Queen City Running is hosting a half marathon and 5k today. Negaunee City Band Concert features tuba solo This week’s Negaunee City Band concert, to be held on Wednesday (July 29) at 7:30 at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street, will feature Chris Adams on tuba playing “Solo Pomposo.” Adams is a recent NMU grad who plays both tuba and percussion with a number of local groups.
