M-77 lane closure for culvert repairs
in Alger County starting Monday

NEWBERRY — The Michigan Department of Transportation will be making repairs to an M-77 culvert north of the Alger/Schoolcraft county line, beginning Monday. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 26. Work includes culvert rehabilitation and pavement restoration. Motorists should expect one lane of alternating traffic on M-77 at the culvert with temporary traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect during the work.

MDOT invites public comment on non-metropolitan consultation plan

MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on the non-metropolitan consultation plan from July 23 to Sept. 21. The plan outlines the consultation process for involving local officials in transportation planning activities in Michigan’s non-metropolitan areas, primarily for the statewide long-range transportation plan, also known as Michigan Mobility 2045 (MM2045) and the State Transportation Improvement Program. Roadwork planned in downtown Marquette

MARQUETTE — On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday July 27, 28 and 30, the 200 block of West Washington Street will be closed intermittently from Third Steet to Fourth Street, including the intersections, for milling and repaving activities. Traffic will be detoured north to Bluff Street on Front Street and Fifth Street. Motorists are urged to use caution, seek alternate routes, and be aware of all flagging and traffic control devices and to use caution while traveling near and through any construction zones.
