Toll rollback coming to International Bridge Oct. 31

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario and Mich. -- Motorists who cross the International Bridge at Sault Ste. Marie on Halloween have something to look forward to.
But don’t look for any tricks that day, just treats in the form of the tolls to cross the span getting rolled back for 24 hours.
"This is an opportunity to recognize and support the communities we share," said Bridge Director Peter Petäinen. "We're going back to opening prices to recognize the longstanding connection between the two Saults, making the bridge more accessible on both sides of the border. The bridge is here, as we have been since 1962, and we're proud to continue supporting that important link for both Saults equally, now and into the future."
From midnight to midnight on Oct. 31, passenger vehicle tolls at the bridge will get a historical throwback to a rate of $1.50 (US), reflecting the toll charged in the mid-1960s. The Canadian rate will be $2 (CA). The bridge opened to traffic on Halloween 1962.
The bridge has facilitated more than 107 million crossings since 1962.
