A letter to the editor that was published in Thursday's edition of The Mining Journal stated that the Chocolay Township Board will consider the text amendments to its Zoning Ordinance related to natural resource extraction at its meeting this Monday night. The ordinance is not on that agenda, and the board expects the ordinance to be on the agenda for its August regular meeting, though that agenda has not been set at this time.

Search and recovery efforts underway in Straits of Mackinac

FROM A NEWS RELEASE ST. IGNACE — Members of the public may notice an increased presence of law enforcement and United States Coast Guard personnel in the Straits of Mackinac. There is no danger to the public. These personnel are conducting ongoing search and recovery operations. Federated clubhouse to mark century

MARQUETTE — The Women’s Federated Clubhouse at 104 W. Ridge St., in Marquette is celebrating 100 years of operation.
