Sixteen gymnasts ages 6 to 13 from Peak Gymnastics & Fitness in Marquette participated in Michigan KickStart testing in downstate Brighton. KickStart tests strength and flexibility. Karnack, Fanson gets Strongmans

CRYSTAL FALLS - Ryan Martin of Crystal Falls kept his Upper Peninsula Strongman title on July 30, but not without a fight from Chad Childs.Martin needed a tiebreaker to repeat as heavyweight champion in the event held at Butler Potato Farm, located near Sagola.Childs, from downstate Mayville, captured the 2015 U.P. Marquette BMX track hosts special afternoon of bike racing

MARQUETTE - The Marquette BMX track hosting a special afternoon of racing on Aug. 6 that included a single-point Warnicke scholarship race, special open racing for kids, the Upper Peninsula BMX reunion races and Mr. Bike of Escanaba donating bikes that the track will use as loaner bikes.The Warnicke scholarship races raise funds for USA BMX members going to college as racers came from Wisconsin, California, Texas and Ontario.In the reunion races, 28 racers participated in 12 open races to cut the field to 16 for the semifinals, then eight for the finals.In regular nights of racing, on ...
