GWINN – 5 Girls and a Guy defeated Hideaway 11-7 to secure the second-half title on Thursday in the Gwinn Mixed Doubles Horseshoe League.
5 Girls and a Guy also clinched the overall championship as it also won the first half.
In other Aug. 11 matches, Lords of the Ringers defeated The Pit Bosses 13-5 to secure second place in the second half, while Flingers & Ringers defeated Flying Iron 16-2.

Twilight League
Riverside Club pulled out a 10-8 upset of Major Division-leader Stone House Window & Door on Aug. 10 in the Ishpeming Twilight Horseshoe League.
Maki’s Mini Mart defeated Pine Grove Bar 10-8 in the other Major match, while in the Classic Division, Household Appliance doubled up Cascade Inn 12-6, Negaunee VFW dropped Paradise Bar 11-7 and Willey’s Tire Shop snuck by American Legion 10-8.
On Aug. 3, Willey’s recorded its first victory of the season (though it had two previous ties) with a 10-8 victory over Paradise.
In other matches, Household Appliance nipped Legion 10-8, VFW zipped by Cascade 10-8, StoneHouse ground down Pine Grove 13-5 and Maki’s nicked Riverside 10-8.
