Ishpeming Ski Club, Superiorland Ski Club take part in competitions

ISHPEMING — Skiers from a pair of Marquette County skiing club have participated in several ski jumping and nordic combined events this winter. On Jan. 8, three skiers from the Ishpeming Ski Club took part in the Flying Eagles Invitational in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Ishpeming’s Timothy Ziegler won the open class on the 30-meter ski jump, setting a hill record of 30.5 meters (100.1 feet), with teammate Matt Penrose finishing third and Isaac Lazenby fourth.
