Members of the Marquette Figure Skating Club competed at the Moose on the Mountain meet in Iron Mountain on Jan. 21. This competition was for skaters in Basic Skills through Preliminary levels. In front is Liv Johnson, while in the back row from left are Samantha Heikkila, Aubrey Palmer and Janel Voss. Heikkila won a first-place award in Pre-Preliminary compulsory, a second in Pre-Preliminary Free Skate and a second in Pre-Preliminary jumps. Voss earned a first in Preliminary Free Skate and seconds in Preliminary compulsory and Preliminary jumps. Palmer got a first in High Beginner B Free Skate and a third in Pre-Preliminary Showcase. Johnson got firsts in High Beginner Spins and in Pre-Preliminary Showcase along with a third in High Beginner Group A Free Skate, 1st Pre-Preliminary Showcase.
