NMU to benefit Make-A-Wish

MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host a Lip Sync Battle to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Vandament Arena.

“In past years we had talent shows, but this time around we decided to do a lip sync battle to raise money for Make-A-Wish,” SAAC president and track and field athlete Avadon James said. “Everyone is excited to take to this different stage in support of this great cause.”

The event is open to the public for a $2 donation at the door.

“We are extremely excited to not only see athletes trade in their NMU uniforms for goofy costumes and dance shoes for one night but also to raise funds for an incredible cause,” SAAC vice president and women’s soccer player Hailey Beyrand said.

Wildcat teams participating include hockey, football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, women’s soccer, cross country, track and field, men’s swimming and diving, women’s swimming and diving, men’s golf and women’s golf.
