MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University track and field team will travel to compete at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Outdoor Championships today and Friday.

NMU senior Brittni Wirtz enters the competition ranked first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.89 set at the Hillsdale Invitational.

Junior Avadon James ranks fourth in the event after clocking an 11.99 at the invite. James is third in the league in the 200 run with a time of 24.93.

Sophomores Jasmine Williams and Samanthia Johnson rank third and fourth, respectively, in the discus throw. Williams reached a throw of 156-11 at the St. Norbert Twilight while Johnson threw a 154-4 at the Hillsdale Invite.

Wildcat Freshman Ine Mylle ranks third in the league in the triple jump after reaching 38-5 at the St. Norbert Twilight meet.
