MARQUETTE – Bitter cold temperatures and wind chills below zero led to the postponement of several Superiorland sporting events Monday.

A prep skiing meet with Marquette Senior High School at Ironwood was called off.

Boys’ prep basketball games postponed were Marquette at Gladstone, Calumet at Baraga, and Lake Linden-Hubbell at Republic Michigamme. The latter has been rescheduled with a 7:30 start time tonight for the varsity game.

The Forest Park at Superior Central girls hoops contest was also called off.

In addition, the Northern Michigan University men’s and women’s U.S. Nationals nordic ski competition at Houghton was postponed until today.
