MARQUETTE – An open women’s volleyball tryout held by the Northern Michigan University team for the 2015 and 2016 seasons will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Vandament Arena.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. It will consist of overall skill and technique assessment, strength and conditioning assessment, and understanding of game play.

Those attending must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school and have completed competition for the year in volleyball at their high school, a junior college transfer or a four-year transfer who has a release from their current university.

All participants will need to submit the following items prior to Friday to participate in the tryout: high school transcript, ACT or SAT test scores, college transcript (if applicable), college release (if applicable), completed medical packet with a physical dated within the past six months, and registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Participants must bring all necessary volleyball equipment to compete, including shoes, knee pads, ankle braces and athletic apparel.
