Killer Whales swimmers 3rd at Yooper Invite

MARQUETTE — The Killer Whales of the Marquette County YMCA finished third at the 2019 Yooper Invitational held Feb. 1-2.

Delta County YMCA and the Marinette-Menomine Stingrays took the top two spots.

Erin VanderSchaaf was the top scorer for the Killer Whales with 112 points, while her brother, Colin VanderSchaaf, had 97.

Colin VanderSchaaf, Carson VanderSchaaf, Quinn Kerekes and Liam McFarren won the boys’ 13-14-year-old 200 medley relay in 1 minute, 53.36 seconds and the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.07.

Kameryn LaVigne, 9-10 — 200 breaststroke, 3:42.23
