MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan University senior midfielder Minnie Bittell was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week in women’s lacrosse on Monday after her performance in NMU’s three road games in Missouri last week.

Bittell led the Wildcats to two wins as they improved to 7-2 this season, falling 12-11 at Rockhurst on March 4, defeating William Jewell 18-7 on March 6 and downing Missouri Western State 13-7 on March 8.

Over the three contests, Bittell scored 16 goals and totaled 21 points with the game-winning goal vs. William Jewell.

She also racked up seven ground balls, three caused turnovers and 21 draw controls, 13 of the latter vs. William Jewell.

Bittell leads the GLIAC in all three scoring categories with 43 goals, 15 assists and 58 points as she is now 10 away from 200 career goals.

She’s on a pace to smash her previous Northern single-season career highs in all categories.
