Eric Yun leads Northern Michigan University Wildcats men’s golfers at Ohio tournament

FINDLAY, Ohio — Sophomore Eric Yun led the Northern Michigan University men’s golf team at the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational held at the Findlay Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

Yun finished in a tie for 25th place by shooting 219 for three rounds.

He opened with 75, then shot 69 that included a 3-under-par double eagle on one hole, and finished with 75 again.

The Wildcats came in 17th of 18 teams with a five-player cumulative score of 919.

Indianapolis won the team title with 851, while Missouri-St. Louis was runner-up with 868.

Host Findlay was third with 869.

Indy’s Keegan Bronnenberg and Trevacca Nazarene’s Blain Turner tied for top individual honors as each shot 210.

Also for NMU, senior Nick Rowley tied for 55th with 81-73-73–227, while senior and Negaunee High School graduate Carter Mason tied for 65th with 73-76-80–229.

And sophomore Walter Ylitalo tied for 87th with 80-81-83–244, while senior James Callahan was 91st with 84-83-85–252.

NMU is off until mid-October when the Wildcats travel to downstate Augusta for the Davenport Panther Invitational at Stonehedge North Golf Course on Oct. 16-17.
