Northern Michigan University’s Makaylee Kuhn named top GLIAC player in women’s basketball
Makaylee Kuhn was named GLIAC North Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
The sophomore guard scored a league-leading 56 points last weekend as the GLIAC opened its season, including a career-high 38 points in a razor-close 77-76 win on Sunday at Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A day earlier, she poured in 18 points in the Wildcats’ 77-74 victory, also at Parkside.
In the two games, she shot 61.1 percent from the field, including 50 percent on 3-pointers by making 3 of 6. With seven rebounds, too, she was cited for her ball-control skills that led to those caroms.
