What he says, does

Before his re-election, Trump promised to be a dictator on day one. Has any other U.S. president-elect ever made such a statement?

Trump recently demanded that Barack Obama be prosecuted for treason, based on no evidence.

Trump fired a labor statistician because he didn’t like the job growth numbers, saying “The numbers were RIGGED in order to make Republicans and ME look bad.”

Because it’s all about him.

He claimed job growth was “BOOMING” with no evidence to support his claim.

So she was fired, for doing her job.

Do statisticians have a reputation for fudging the numbers? Aren’t they usually known as dry information people who focus on accuracy?

Trump fired the messenger instead of focusing on fact finding or solutions, therby undermining the integrity of the statistics, and politicizing the data.

That sounds like something Kim Jong Un, Stalin, Hitler or Putin would do.

Fudging the data can only cause suspicion about government information.

Trump pushed out an FBI official who refused to reveal the names of agents who investigated the January 6 insurrection and assault on the US Capitol, in which the building was breached, vandalized, officers assaulted and injured, and several people died.

All of these are abuses of power. Trump isn’t just testing the limits of power—he’s blowing them up.

Trump publicly quoted his buddy Vladimir Putin, “Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting….You lost it because of mail-in voting.”

So now Trump is attacking mail-in voting, which has proven to be accurate, convenient, and safe.

Trump is taking every opportunity to show us who he really is. We need to believe him.

His show of force in Los Angeles and Washington D.C are more of the same — attacks on democratic rights, the expansion of force, using masked ICE agents and federalizing the National Guard for policing — which is opposed by numerous veterans groups, distinguished retired Four-Star Generals, Army and Navy Secretaries.

He’s getting us used to this, and recognizes no limits.

These are not ordinary times. This is not a drill. This is a crisis, a threat to our democracy.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked what kind of country we had, he said, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Ben Franklin was a very wise man. He knew that we must be vigilant and we must be willing to act.
