Prop 3 mulled
To the Journal editor:
Here are the facts as I see them. God did the following:
1.) Gave free will to all humans.
2.) Made human sex …(positive).
3.) Forced human females to be the child bearers (no female free will involvement here).
God-ordained free will permits the following human actions:
1.) Men committing rape, incest and worse against women.
2.) Men impregnating women, then abandoning their responsibilities for that impregnation.
3.) Pregnant women to abort the fetus.
4.) “Pro-Life” zealots like Stuart W. Bruce (Oct. 14, The Mining Journal) to try to stop pregnant women from exercising their free will to eject the fetus early.
5.) “Pro-Life” (proponents) to care about the fetus’ life only to the point of birth. Once born, the baby is certainly not their problem.
Many “pro-life” (proponents) characterize themselves as spreading their God’s word and doing their God’s work. Whether their “work” and words are holy or not remains to be seen. The greatest sin of all is putting words in their god’s mouth and claiming that their actions are ordained by their god. But then, their god did give them the free will to be sinners.
When their bodies die, they may then find out the truth about their God’s existence or non-existence and whether or not they will pay a price for interfering with the free will of pregnant women.
If these “pro-life” (proponents) truly cared about fetuses, they would be lining up to adopt and raise as many as they could, regardless of their age or financial ability. (130, 258)
Biblically, a fetus does not become a living breathing baby human being until your god blows its breath into the fetus when it is ejected from the uterus. If your god is truly against abortion, it will punish those it deems are sinners in its own time without help from pro-birth zealots.
Proposal 3 does not in any way force any Michigander to do anything. It only allows females to exercise their god-given free will to make decisions about their body and avoid the unfairness of being forced by your God to carry a fetus until it is naturally ejected from her uterus.
Because Proposal 3 is about free will, I suspect that your God supports it. Therefore, I urge all “pro-life” (proponents) to heed their God’s gift of free will for all and vote yes on Proposal 3.
