MBE announces its 5 2020 scholarship winners

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Builders Exchange has awarded five $1,000 scholarships to recent Upper Peninsula high school graduates who are furthering their education in a field of construction, the trades, or engineering.

All of these students excelled in classwork, extra-curricular activities, volunteerism, and work ethic.

The students are:

≤ Logan Chaudier, of Negaunee High School, son of William Chaudier and Paige Chaudier, is pursuing a career in Industrial Maintenance. He will be continuing his education at Northern Michigan University.

≤ Drew DuShane, of Negaunee High School, son of Derek and Angela DuShane, plans to attend Michigan State University to obtain a degree in Electrical Engineering.

≤ Heston Roberts, from North Star Academy, son of Bruce Roberts and Pamela Roberts, will be attending Northern Michigan University in the fall to study Pre-engineering He plans to obtain a degree in Electrical Engineering and purse a career working with electrical distribution systems.

≤ Ryan Taylor, from Manistique High School, son of Ann Taylor, will be attending Bay College to obtain a Welding certificate.

≤ Noah Weaver, of Escanaba High School, son of Gerald and Tara Weaver, will be obtaining an Electrical Lineman certificate from Northwest Lineman College.

The Marquette Builders Exchange has awarded over 120 scholarships over the past 40 years to recent high school graduates.
