Gas prices increase

MARQUETTE — Average gasoline prices in Michigan have risen 9.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.06/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 4,913 stations in Michigan. Prices in Michigan are 34.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 82.0 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 11.4 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $4.876 per gallon. According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Michigan was priced at $3.37/g yesterday while the most expensive was $5.64/g, a difference of $2.27/g. ...

ST. IGNACE — The Mackinac Bridge Authority will meet in special session July 7 in St. Ignace and have its regular meeting July 8 on Mackinac Island. MARQUETTE — The Negaunee Public Library will hold a book-signing session for several regional authors from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, as part of Pioneer Days. Authors include Negaunee native Adam Dompierre (mystery), Larry Buege (nonfiction and children’s books), Kyann and Shire Clarke (children’s nonfiction), Richard P.
