“They’re creepy and they’re kooky
Mysterious and spooky,
They’re all together ooky,
The Addams Family”
ISHPEMING — Superiorland residents of a certain age will recognize those lyrics as coming from the classic “The Addams Family” television series from the 1960s, an entertainment franchise that has been successfully reprised in recent years for movie theaters.
Now, Ishpeming High School students are preparing to bring spooky fun and heartfelt comedy to the stage with their upcoming production of “The Addams Family” musical.
Performances at the W.C. Peterson Auditorium are scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m.; Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Based on the beloved characters from comics, TV and film, the musical follows the story of what happens when Wednesday Addams falls in love with a “normal” boy and attempts to introduce him to her family. As the two families come together, both are challenged to reconsider what
“normal” really means in a story filled with humor, heart, and memorable music.
Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students ages 18 and under and can be purchased in the high school office, online on GoFan, and at the door.
Audience members can look forward to an entertaining production filled with humor, lively musical numbers, and the delightfully eccentric charm of the Addams family. The public is invited to come enjoy an evening of laughs, music, and outstanding performances by Ishpeming
High School’s talented students
