MARQUETTE — The BISSELL Pet Foundation is once again aiming to Empty the Shelters across the country through Dec. 20.

At the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, the event will include: Special pricing for dogs and cats 1 year on up. Small critters of all ages. Dogs will be $25 to adopt. Cats and small animals will be $5. This includes their spay or neuter, vaccines, health check, microchip, and more. Some dogs require multiple meets.

To save time, UPAWS encourages people to pre-fill out an interest form at this link: https://upaws.org/animal-interest-form/. Adoptions are on first-come/first-served approval, so UPAWS cannot guarantee a specific animal will be available even if someone has filled out a pet adoption interest form. Interested adopters can keep an eye on UPAWS available pet web pages. As animals are adopted, the shelter computer program automatically removes them from the website. Every adopter of a Bissell-sponsored pet will be entered into a drawing for a new Bissell vacuum, as a vacuum was donated by a UPAWS supporter.
