Rotary golf outing coming up

MARQUETTE — The Rotary Club of Marquette is planning its 31st Annual Golf Outing.

The fundraiser will be on May 30th on the Heritage Course at the Marquette Country Club. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. It concludes with an awards dinner and auction.

Event co-chair Erica Huss said the event should raise $25,000 which will be used to support many charitable causes benefiting the community.

The income is raised through sponsor donations, golfer fees, a live and a silent auction and a 50-50 drawing. She stressed the importance of sponsors to the success of the event.

The other co-chair, Steve Whelan, said that he is confident that the event will be a sell out since 84 golfers of the maximum 144 are already registered. Golfers are excited since there are two hole in one opportunities: Fox Marquette Subaru will provide new car and Ride North committed a Canam Outlander 700 XT 4 wheeler.
