MARQUETTE — No major injuries were reported after a single-vehicle personal injury rollover crash on M-35 south of County Road 565 around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.

The car was driven by Marie Schaefer, 44, of Gwinn. There was also a small child in the vehicle who was “properly restrained in the rear seat,” police said. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found no major injuries to Schaefer or the child.

Upon further investigation by police, it was found the vehicle was traveling south on M-35 when it “lost control” and crossed the center line, a press release from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office states. the vehicle then struck a rock and overturned, coming to rest on its roof in the ditch.

The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
