MARQUETTE — The Westwood Mall in Marquette will be home to a new business, a indoor trampoline park.

As a nationwide chain, Altitude Trampoline Park is a well-established family-friendly activity center that encourages having fun while being active, a company release states.

Marquette franchise owner Kevin Hagans said he is particularly excited to open up the park in Marquette Township.

“Especially since there’s not much to do up here indoors for the kids, especially in winter,” Hagans said.

He said freezing temperatures can discourage outside play, so children need stimulating activities indoors.

Hagans said the planning phase of the facility is drawing to a close.

Construction is expected to start in the next two weeks.

Although he was initially concerned about how residents would respond to the idea, Hagans said feedback has been positive.

“Everything we put out so far has been positively received.”

He said he intends to keep the public informed as the project moves forward.
