ISHPEMING - Tournament play continued on April 6 in the Ishpeming Men's Pool League.Jack's II clobbered Venice II 18-6, Venice thrashed Rumorz 17-7 and Jack's I and Riverside Club drew byes.On March 30, Venice thrashed Wayside 19-5, Jack's II bested Tilden Club 14-8 and Riverside Club defeated Rumorz 13-11.Jack's I and Venice II drew byes.Joe Rubatt of Venice posted a table run.
MARQUETTE - A quartet of boys gymnasts from Peak Gymnastics and Fitness in Marquette competed downstate the weekend of April 1-3 in the 2016 USA Gymnastics Men's Michigan State Meet.Peak's Level 4 competitors took sixth place overall among 22 teams.The local gymnasts and their results follow: Teyan Buchler (Level 4, age 9-10) tied for state champion on high bar, seventh in parallel bars and ninth on floor, pommel horse and vault. He also placed fifth in all-around. Josiah Swanson (Level 4, age 11-12) tied for sixth in parallel bars, placed ninth in high bar and tied for ninth in floor. ...
